Be Decisive: Taking a Stand for the Truth (Jeremiah)
Written by Warren Wiersbe (David C. Cook Publishing)
Led by Vicki Brown
Imagine living in a world with no moral absolutes. A place where truth is in the eye of the beholder. A society with eroding standards. Sound familiar? Yet this dilemma is not new. The prophet Jeremiah was called to take a public, and unpopular, stand for God's truth. His story can inspire us to make the powerful, decisive choice to stay firm in our faith and values.

The Word of the Lord: Seeing Jesus in the Prophets
Written by Nancy Guthrie (Crossway Publishers)
Led by Laura Spradley
In the Old Testament, God spoke to his people through prophets--men specially called to speak God's Word to his people. The New Testament makes it clear that such prophets, whether chastising or comforting, testified to Israel's final redemption and ultimate hope: Jesus the Messiah. With guided personal Bible study, relevant teaching, and group discussion, Bible teacher Nancy Guthrie will help you see the person and work of Christ in:

  • Hosea's willingness to redeem his unfaithful bride from slavery
  • Isaiah's divine King and suffering Servant, who will be punished for his people
  • Daniel's stone, not hewn by human hands, that will crush every human kingdom
  • Ezekiel's vision of a city where we will enjoy Jesus's presence forever

Gain a fresh perspective on the message of the Old Testament prophets, a broader understanding of Jesus as the fulfillment of Scripture, and much more on this incredible journey to see Jesus in the Old Testament!

2 hours homework per week
12 weeks starting August 29

Led by Sherrill Wall
“You shall know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” In John 8 Jesus teaches faith to the Jews as the key to freedom. Paul’s letter to the Galatians is an elaboration of this concept. He uses his own experience and lessons from the Old Testament to help us understand why our position is Christ is the only key to true freedom. So if we are free, why does it often seem like we are bound by a strict code of behavior both in thought and action? Why is the Christian faith so often seen as a set of rules? This six week examination of Galatians is an opportunity to better understand our position in Christ and how it enables us to live freely in the gospel of grace and to walk confidently in the Spirit. It will challenge us individually, as we dive into the homework, and collectively, in our weekly discussions, to evaluate the freedom we have in Christ from both sin and law.
